Patience

Hey there!

I know it’s been a while. I’ve been resting and re-charging. But I want to share something quickly with you all.

A friend of mine made a post on social media about an animated series that’s currently running. The show is based on a comic book series that was released over ten years ago. They read the comic issues so they already know how the story unfolds. I am completely new to it, so with my antsy self, I commented, “Just tell me how it ends…”. Of course, they refused to offer any spoilers. But at that moment I had this - “epiphany” - if you will.

We – at least I – tend to do this with certain aspects of life. Instead of enjoying the experience that leads up to the finale, I just want to know how it all ends. I am learning a different form of patience. One that requires me to make the most of the time given and truly appreciate everything in between. There’s a lesson, a joy, a maturing that occurs through each moment from start to finish. Allowing the story to unfold over time also allows for deeper refinement and greater appreciation. Even if I know the ending, I still have to wait for it to come to past. So instead of being anxious, I am choosing to use that excitement as inspiration to be more active, more creative, and more fruitful.
